Be Inspired

It was November 2015 when I decided to write my first book, Finding Sydney: A Romantic Suspense. I can remember it like it was yesterday. I remember sitting down at the kitchen table and looking out going onto a patio with the sun shining brightly giving me a sense of hope. It was at that moment I decided to become an author. The thought was quite simple and I had no doubt in the story idea. Naive and full of determination, I set out to write a novel. Now at the time I had never done that before. Like many people, I grew up thinking one day I’ll write a novel and you put that on your bucket list as a very distant dream. But in that moment, on that bright and sunny Saturday, I decided that was the day I would conquer that goal.

The question was where to begin. My dream the night before was vivid and clear. That was the premise of what would eventually become my first novel. I didn’t have a clue what I was doing, but I knew it was a story I had to tell. I had already seen it play out in my mind and could feel the setting and characters as if they were real. The dream I had that inspired the story was just that real....Well, it was real to me.

I say all this to say, be so inspired to dream your dream into reality. Write it down as best you can, then set out on a mission to find the people, tools, and tips you will need to make it a reality. Seek the counsel of your most trusted advisers for assistance and be willing to refine it as your dream evolves into a manifested goal. No one can want it more than you, but small steps towards your goal are still success!
